32mo Valentine with Lace Paper, Decorated Paper, Tiny Book-shaped Applique in Original Envelope

England: 1850s. A handsome and very petite 32mo valentine constructed from pictorial lace paper with decorated paper peeking through and a small book-shaped applique that reads "Think of me still". Housed in the original blank envelope addressed in contemporary ink to "Deborah Ode and Eleanor Ode". The pictorial lace paper depicts a church on the left, and a small winged putto with a dog on the right. Valentine measures approx. 2" by 2.75", envelope measures approx. 2.25" by 3.25" Very good. Light toning, a couple spots to envelope.
