1890s Silver Spoon Trade Catalogue -- Wholesale to Gift and Souvenir Shops

Chicago, Illinois: Wendell and Company, c.1891. A handsome trade catalogue advertising collectible silver spoons manufactured by a Chicago silversmith. Features a highly stylized cover showing their "Puck Spoon", which references a line in Shakespeare's "Midsummer Night's Dream" when Puck boasts he can "put a girdle round about the earth in forty minutes". other themed spoons include: orange fruit; floral; tourism spoons (e.g. Santa Fe, New Mexico, sold in bulk to souvenir shops across the country); etching from photographs; hand engraved spoons. Includes testimonials and prices for all the products, with illustrations for several of the more decorative options. Note that the audience for this trade catalogue would have been souvenir and gift shops, so prices are in bulk/per dozen. Single vol. (8" by 5.25"), pp. 16, illus., in original illus. wrps. Very good. Short tears to spine, loose leaves.
