In 1906, the Christadelphia Advocate wrote of it's founder "This formidable title was coined by a Bro. Nelson, a colored man, to denominate a movement he proposed to inaugurate among those of his own race. This brother ran well for a while, seeming to be earnest, and he is quite above the average intelligence for his race."
