Children's Magazine Advertising Flyer

"St. Nicholas" was a magazine published monthly for children by Scribners beginning in 1873, and ending in 1943. Some famous contributors of juvenile stories to the magazine included Edna St. Vincent Millay, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and E. B. White.

United States: Scribner's, 1873. A small flyer or handbill promoting a new children's periodical: "Good News for Children. St. Nicholas has come! He is coming every Month. This Beautiful New Magazine, Published by Scribner & Co., with its Pictures, Stories and Talks, Is Ready, and For Sale by W.W. Blossom, Rock Bottom, Massachusetts. And all news dealers and booksellers". The verso features a line drawing of children crying out for Santa Claus. Measures approx. 3.5" by 5.25" Good. Toned with staining/spotting.
