A scarce children's book in an attractive embossed and gilt cover, telling the story of a little girl named Phoebe learning about tidiness via the idiom "Apple-pie order". Features a handsome frontispiece lithographed in purple showing Phoebe on her Uncle Roger's knee. 1 copy on WorldCat (July 2026). Single vol. (4.5" by 3.5"), pp. 3-32, with frontispiece, possibly lacking title-page. Early pencil inscription to front free endpaper ("Annie J. Hood"). Very good. Light toning, spine cracked, minor dust soiling, some chipping to extremities/foot of spine.
