Two (2) Uncut Louis Prang Proof Sheets
Louis Prang (1824-1909) was an important American publisher known for pioneering improvements in chromolithography.
[Boston, Massachusetts]: [Louis Prang], 1880. Two (2) attractive uncut proof sheets from Louis Prang, with two charming domestic scenes depicted. "The Only Pair" shows a little boy and his brown dog sulking as they wait for his trousers to be mended by a severe-looking grandmother. "The First Pair" shows a smiling mother dressing her young boy in his very first pair of short trousers, with a white dog at his feet. Each sheet provides a different option: the first shows the images in sepia tones, and the second shows the images in full color. Sepia sheet measures approx. 6.5" by 10.25"; color sheet measures approx. 7" by 10" Very good. Light toning, dust soiling, discoloration from previous mounting to versos. Uncut, but trimmed.Price: $150.00
