Louis Prang (1824-1909) was an important American publisher known for pioneering improvements in chromolithography.

[Boston, Massachusetts]: [Louis Prang], 1880s. An uncut Louis prang proof sheet with two (2) chromolithographed illustrations. The image on the left depicts a small blond child playing with a house cat, and the image on the right depicts a little boy playing a fife in pastoral dress. Includes color bar at foot for the printing process, with eight colors, most labeled. Two pinholes at head, measures approx. 6" by 8.5" Very good. Some light dust soiling to verso. Light show-through discoloration on verso.
