Two (2) 1930s Swiss Coloring Books for Children
Switzerland: V & Cie, 1930s. A pair of coloring books produced for children by "V & Cie" of Switzerland in the 1930s. Each is numbered on the lower wrapper (nos. 532 and 533), and they depict differing subjects: European farm life, and children at play. Each features six (6) openings with a color-printed image on the left, and an identical line drawing on the right without color, for the child to practice coloring in. Illustrated by who we believe is Karl Czerpien (1878-1947). Each is single vol. (4.25" by 5.75"), ff. [12]. printed on one side of each leaf only, in original color illus. wrps with image from inside of each book on front (children marching with instruments and farmers harvesting hay). Very good. Toned with one loose leaf.
