"From the Center" -- First Issue of 1970s Feminist Serial from Fairleigh Dickinson University Center for Women

Madison, New Jersey: Fairleigh Dickinson University Center for Women, 1975. The inaugural issue of "From the Center", a feminist serial by the Fairleigh Dickinson University Center for Women first published in 1975. It appears to be short-lived, and we cannot find any other issues. Its mission is described in the introduction by the Center's Acting Director: "The publication is to serve as a forum for creative expression, and the exchange of ideas. All people connected with the Center for Women or with the University at large are encouraged to submit works for future issues. We have intentionally not stated narrow objectives or goals. In these times of change it seems a better idea to let each speak for oneself, coming together in print to let an individual image emerge from the center". Content in this issue includes: academic lectures; photographs; and poetry. Single vol. (8.5" by 7"), pp. 36, photo-illus., in original yellow printed wrps. with sun ray design on front. 1 copy on WorldCat only (August 2026). Near-fine.
