1869 Lee Literary Association Anniversary Program
[Brooklyn, New York]: Lee Literary Association, 1869. A handsome embossed program produced for an anniversary event held by the Lee Literary Association in 1869. Lists the order of events beginning with a voluntary on the organ and prayer and ending with readings, addresses, and a poem. From the New York Daily Herald's coverage of the event: "[The event] was celebrated last night in the Universalist church, corner of Bleecker and Downing streets. The attendance was very large, the church being well filled throughout ... The Lee Literary Association may well congratulate themselves on their anniversary, and taking courage from the interest in their doings manifested last night, may well take steps to plan greater things for the future". Printed and embossed bifolium (6" by 5"). Good. Toned with some light dust soiling, staining, wrinkles and letter folds.
