A promotional booklet produced c.1891 by the Rapid Transit Real Estate Co., a firm that owned a large tract of land in the burgeoning suburb of Westchester, New York, between Unionville and Pleasantville. Named for the Union war hero William T. Sherman, Sherman Park is marketed to potentials buyers as the ideal suburban location to settle down due to its natural beauty, fresh air, and easy accessibility by railway. Includes testimonials, photos, information about costs, and a reproduction of a Lillian Russell letter noting her interest in the development project. Single vol. (5.5" by 8.25"), pp. [22], illus., in original printed textured paper wrps. Ink stamp of general agent to upper and lower wrappers. Stamp to first leaf. Good to very good. Wrappers soiled with some damp staining. Light dust soiling, toning, a couple nicks.
