A Full, True, Remarkable, & Particular Account of The Faithful Lovers

London, England: James Catnach, 1840s? A fun bit of street literature/job printing from James Catnach (1792-1841), a well-known chapbook publisher based in the Seven Dials district. Printed in two columns with two illustrative woodcuts at the top, it tells the story of a young woman Jane and her lover. Jane agrees to stay faithful in his absence, but when they meet again after a long period of time, she has changed physically, and he leaves her out of disappointment. An early example of what Gen Z might refer to as a "rage bait" story designed to anger and titillate readers. Poor Jane! Measures approx. 9.75" by 8" Very good. Trimmed.
