Boston, Massachusetts: M.C. Hood & Co, 1880s. A set of five (5) cross-stitch patterns advertising Hood's French Cologne, published as part of a "collect them all" type marketing venture. The patterns in this set include a butterfly, a basket of wildflowers, a pansy, and two abstract/decorative patterns. Each measures approx. 3" by 5", and the versos of each include a line drawing of a cologne display with pricing and a brief pitch for the brand, drug store printed in red at foot. They are labeled as patterns 60, 61, 70, 71, and 73. Very good. Light toning.
