A WWII-era booklet issued to the American public to answer questions about family allowances available under the Servicemen's Dependents Allowance Act of 1942. The allowances were issued to soldiers and their dependents, usually a spouse and children. Answers questions about amounts paid, when they are payable, who qualifies, where to find further information. Single vol. (8" by 3.5"), pp. 28, in original illus. wrps with image of soldier smiling down at family with a large check in the background, eagle at top with caption "Freedom from Want" Very good. Light dust soiling.
