St. Louis, Missouri: C.B. Woodward Company, 1893. A souvenir book of photographic views of the World's Columbian Exposition, published the same year the event was held in Chicago, 1893. Each leaf features a full-page black and white photo reproduction and caption. Depicted are the various grand buildings and exhibition halls erected, including: the Administration Building; the Lagoon and Colonnade; Agricultural Building; Manufactures Building; Court of Honor; statuary on the Grand Basin; the Wooded Island; Illinois Building; Electricity Building; and White Star Line Building. A tangible reminder of the the awe inspired by the exposition venue in the public. Single vol. (7.25" by 10.25"), [38] unnumbered plates, in original publisher's red cloth stamped in black, gold, and white/pink, secured with red cord in spine. Very good. Rubbing, the occasional spot. Binding still sound.
