"Accept a Trifle" -- 16mo Pictorial Lace Paper Valentine Depicting Couple Being Wed

England: 1860s. An attractive 16mo pictorial lace paper valentine measuring approx. 3.75" by 2.75". The lace paper itself depicts a winged cupid reclining on a cloud at the top. Below, a window in the lace paper reveals a hand-colored lithograph depicting a couple kneeling in prayer, being wed. Finished with a small die-cut printed blue appliqué reading "Accept a Trifle" Very good. Some staining from adhesive used to mount lace paper to bottom leaf.
