Holiday Party Card

England: 1870s. A charming holiday card consisting of a chromolithographed illustration pasted to coated lace paper with decorative embossed border. The image depicts a spirited holiday party in a parlor decorated for Christmas, with much going on at once: children at play, adults dancing, young ladies playing the piano, and what appears to be a couple sneaking a kiss. Measures approx. 3.5" by 4.75" Very good. Toning/discoloration to verso, a couple nicks to lace paper edge, small modern tape repairs to right-hand of image edge.
