Early 1890s Red Mountain Vineyard Billhead

The Red Mountain Vineyard was founded by Abraham Schell (1817-1892) in partnership with German viticulturist George H. Kraus (1825-1868) in the 1860s. They soon became the largest exporter of wine on the West Coast, but closed during Prohibition.

An early 1890s billhead recording a sale of port and other goods to a customer of Red Mountain Vineyard, a vineyard based in Knight's Ferry, California run by H.R. Schell. Includes decorative typography at the head printed in gold and brown. Lists the business as manufacturer and dealer "in Pure Wines, Brandy, Wine & Cider, Vinegar, Nuts, Fruits, &c.". Measures approx. 7" by 8.5" Very good. Light toning, letter folds.
