[Pennsylvania?]: 19th century. A German language (Pennsylvania Dutch?) "love puzzle", hand-lettered in ink and surrounded by a decorative heart border with flowers and leaves. Love puzzles use words, numbers, and sometime images to convey a message that the recipient must decipher. The verso of this example appears to list some family birth dates. Measures approx. 6.5" by 5" Good to very good. Toned with some spotting, minor short tear to top edge.
