Printed directions sheet for "Madame Le May's French Formula", a brand of "antiseptic vaginal suppositories" marketed to women as a panacea for all female ailments including: "Leucorrhea, Gonorrhea, Prolapsus, or Falling of the Womb, Inflammation, Congestion, Anteversion, Retroversion, Dropsy of the Womb, Ulceration, Polypus, Tumors ... and other Female Complaints in general". Interesting to note that Gonorrhea, a sexually transmitted infection, is categorized here as a "female" ailment, and that below it gives directions for how to use the suppository as a "preventative" for other venereal diseases. It did not protect women from such diseases. Includes a price at the bottom ($1.00 a box, and six boxes for $5.00). Printed flyer on pink paper measuring 10.25" by 5.75" Very good. Light edge toning.
