Au Bon Marché Advertising Transformation Doll
Paris: 1890s. A charming children's transformation advertising Au Bon Marché/Maison A. Boucicaut, a Parisian department store. Front depicts a little girl in a yellow dress selling costume masks, back has a view of the Rue du Bac in Paris. There are two dolls (a boy on the verso of the front cover, a girl on the recto of the lower wrapper) and four leaves of flaps to change the outfits with. Note the gender roles represented in the outfits. Measures approx. 4.5" by 2" Very good. Toned, a little surface wear to back.
