Album with Sixty (60) Examples of Kindergarten Art (Paper Cutting)

Constructed from the simple to the complex with several very unusual designs e.g the flock of birds and school of fish. The patterns on the reverse side demonstrate and interesting use of multiple colors in single designs; mostly geometric in nature.

United States: c.1900. A collection of sixty (60) examples of Kindergarten paper cutting art, displayed on forty-two (42) folding panels housed in a cloth-covered album. There are 42 examples made from blue paper, and 18 examples of multicolored paper. Of special note are two of the final examples in the series of blue paper cutting samples, which have been skillfully wrought to resemble a school of swimming fish and a flock of birds in flight. A nice example of skilled paper cutting Kindergarten art. Album measures approx. 9.25" by 9.5", with forty-two (42) folding panels secured together with cloth tape, album in original dark cloth stamped with "Paper Cutting" to upper board. Good to very good. Spotting, minor dust soiling, offsetting, a couple pieces of cut paper loose, large (approx. 7") split to upper joint. Gilt faded from stamped board.
