An Analysis of Chemotherapy

Kansas City, Missouri: Lynch & Company, c.1980. An early analysis of a new kind of chemotherapy, "Neo-Merphenol", promoted by Lynch & Company as "A comparatively new, safe, and efficient weapon" that may be used by physicians "to help them in their great humanitarian warfare against disease, suffering, and death" (p. 8). Published for scientists and physicians, not the general public, it discusses the current thought on chemotherapy in scientific detail. Chemotherapy was first developed in the early part of the twentieth century, when it was discovered that toxic mustard gas used in the first World War could be adapted to have a chemo-therapeutic application in treating lymphoma.
Four-fold pamphlet (7" by 3.25" folded), printed both sides, paginated. Minor toning, dust soiling.
