Dayton, Ohio: United Brethren Publishing House, 1889. Two chromolithographed advertising cards (each 3" by 5") for children's books published by Estes & Lauriat, each designed to resemble a bound book. Each verso lists five publications, available in time for the year 1889. The publisher of these cards, William John Shuey (1822-1899), was a Dayton, Ohio minister who was named agent of the United Brethren publishing house in 1864. He visited Freetown, Sierra Leone, in 1855 as a missionary. Near-fine. Toned, one or two spots.
