United States: 1880s. An accordion-style, heart-shaped folding love token pocket (4.25" by 4.5") with navy ribbon closures at top and bottom. Chromolithograph in gold with hand-stenciled coloring, it features a few lines of pretty verse on both faces: "fair Flora sends these treasures here, The pride of all the blooming year; Then in thy graceful tresses weave, These lovely offerings of May..." Fine. Some light dust soiling, inside toned. Light separation on two folds.
