Cheney L'yonne: 1846. A 14 1/2" x 18" paper reward penned in black and green ink. Presented to a young boy "Gaulon Eugene on March 8 1847 at the age of 7 years and 8 months. Attributions for Application, Reading, Wisdom and Obedience. Of note is the calligraphy and detail associated with the piece with four (4) elaborate rows of border design circling the acknowledgment and the detailed lettering of Application, Reading, Wisdom and Obedience. Finally The three (3) different line-drawn geometric devices embellishing the design. The reverse is blank with the exception of his name. Folds, small areas of paper lose, surface and edge wear.
