Folded Paper Album with "Do Not Open Until" Hidden Messages - From Edith to 'Loise' - March 1901
What was originally an 8 1/2" x 6 3/4" coverless school copy book with each page folded at top and bottom to create a pocket giving the album the shape of a triangle. The cover reads To be opened August 20, 01. Written March '01. The folded edges of the page had been sealed with sealing wax. A one page letter from a former schoolmate recollecting their time together and advising that she is sending her this remembrance from "the biggest teaser there ever was". Most of the pages are folded and blank except for the seven (7) that are sealed. Each with a specific date to be opened. The entries are not in chronological order e.g. the August 20 entry commes before the June 28 entry. Whimsical. Surface soiling.
