Elegant 16mo Valentine with Pictorial Lace Paper Depicting Queen Victoria

England: Winslow, 1850s. An elegant 16mo Valentine made from pictorial lace paper and different colored papers. The lace paper depicts an elegant bust of who we presume to be a young Queen Victoria, with another classical scene depicting two women lounging at the bottom. Both are surrounded by putti, wildflowers, and flourishes.

Inside is a motto that reads, "Forget Me Not. For you a motto I have found, And one I think that suits; Almost afraid to send it round, I tremble in my boots." Very good. Light dust soiling.
