Paper Doll Valentine Greeting Card

Of particular note as a young woman is driving a car; often considered the role of a man in early 20th C.

United States: c.1930. A scarce intact example of a paper doll greeting card from c.1930, with a cut paper doll of a little girl who can be dressed up in two different outfits and inserted into the front of the card to show her driving. The two different outfits are traditional costumes from Holland and Spain; inside, the greeting card reads "This doll has traveled thru many a far country and she brought some queer clothes with her as well as best love from me".

Doll measures 4.75", die-cut card measures approx. 5.5" by 4.25". Contemporary inscription "Mary" in ink. Very good. Some toning, staining where envelope is glued to card. Some creases to doll.
