"Happy New Year 1884" -- Souvenir Menu Printed on Tissue
United States: 1883. A souvenir menu printed on delicate tissue paper, produced to commemorate a celebration held by an unknown social club for New Year's Eve in 1883. Desserts and treats featured include fruitcake, lady fingers, tropical fruits and nuts, candies, ices, and sundries such as peaches and cream. Interestingly, there were three types of water served: cistern water, spring water, and well water. The tissue is decorated with a light brown border and confetti motif. Good to very good. Some creasing, light toning,, a couple nicks.
