The Fall Brook Railway Company (F.B.C.Co.) was one of the largest freight business in the United States that ran along a single track. The company's track was approximately 280 miles long and was located in New York and Pennsylvania. The company owned (as of 1893) 74 locomotives and 3,469 cars, of which 25 or so were passenger cars. Each month they printed and issued monthly corrected schedule/timetable of the Fall Brook Lines as well as several railways connecting lines. Some of the connected lines included in this booklet are: Beech Creek RR, Delaware, Lackawanna & Western RR, New York Central & Hudson River RR (Main Line and Auburn Branch), New York, Lake Erie & Western RR (Main Line and Tioga Branch), Philadelphia & Reading RR, and West Shore RR. The 16 page booklet also included advertisements for local businesses along the route, such as grocery stores or hotels, as well as companies that would supply the rail road and its workers such as Rhode Island Tool Company, West (Steam) Engine Company,  Waterloo Wagon Company, and Rochester Car Wheel Works. Additionally there are several jokes and short stories, though whether these were only used to fill unsold advertising space or something that was routinely added is unknown. One of the jokes printed in the booklet is: "Betsy, an old colored ccok [sic], was moaning around the kitchen the other day, when her missress [sic] asked her if she was ill. 'No ma'm, no 'zactly,' said Betsy, ' but the fac' is, I don't feel ambition 'nough to get out of my own way.' " The front cover has a black and white engraving of a forest valley with a railroad bridge that has a train  crossing it. There is also an image of a scroll printed beside it that lists the different railways that were incorporated into the Fall Brook Railway Company. Those are: Corning, Cowanesque & Antrim RR, Syracuse, Geneva, and Corning RR, Pine Creek RR, and Geneva & Lyons RR. The back cover features a map of Fall Brook Railway Company lines. Today the Fall Brooks line is owned by  two different companies: Wellsboro & Corning RR, and Tioga Central RR. Illustrated wrappers. 16 pgs (including cover) OCLC 0 (Dec 2019) Measures   7" x 4".
