Description

Instead of the traditional souvenir postcard, the Porte Printing Company, had a Souvenir Letter made for Fargo, ND. Though, in fact, it was more like a souvenir booklet. The front inside cover provided a space to write a letter, with the front cover allotting space for an address. The rest of the booklet features eight (8) black and white printed photographs of scenes and business, located in or around Fargo. Each printed photograph is captioned, and some of the locations featured are: Red River near Island Park, North Dakota Agricultural School, and Pacific Avenue. The letter inside the booklet has been filled out and is dated June 25, 1906. It was sent to Juria Morris in Meadville, PA from Hanna, who appears to have been a relative. The short letter discusses her stay at the lakes nearby and the possibility of their "Auntie" visiting her sister in Iowa. 12 pgs., including written wrappers. Staple binding. OCLC 0 (Jan. 2021). Measures 6" x 4 1/2".
