Charles Burleigh's machine drill was first introduced and patented in 1866, and soon became one of the most successful rock drills in an industry that had not long before been dependent on hand drilling.

Includes large illustration of gentleman operating the Burleigh rock drill on the upper cover, and another illustration of the drill on the lower cover. Inside, the efficiency and efficacy of the equipment is discussed alongside a list of successful mines and contractors currently using the product.
