Program and Bill of Fare - Yale Class of 1877 Supper - Savin Rock

Savin Rock was an amusement park established in the 1870s in West Haven, Connecticut, that soon became a popular beach-side resort destination for New Englanders. It declined in popularity in the mid-twentieth century, and was ultimately demolished and redeveloped in the 1960s.

Includes the evening's Bill of Fare as well as a program with a list of toasts and speakers. A number of witty lines are quoted, such as this one on the cover: "Dire was the clang of plates, of knife and fork, That merciless fell, like tomahawks to work!" (recto).



Top-folding bifolium (8.5" by 5") printed in blue and gold on blue-tinted paper. Fine. Traces of previous adhesive to verso.
