Prospectus for Monograph on Pseudocyesis (False Pregnancy)

Bloomington, Indiana: The Principia Press, Inc., c.1937. A prospectus for a monograph on Pseudocyesis, or false pregnancy, published in 1937 by The Principia Press. Women who appear to be pregnant and exhibit all of the same signs and symptoms, but do not carry a fetus, are described to have Pseudocyesis. The most famous example is generally cited as Mary Tudor, though even earlier examples can be traced back to Hippocrates, who observed cases in 300 B.C. The prospectus includes a listing of other terms used for the diagnosis, as well as translations for the term in seven other languages. Printed bifolium (9" by 6"). Fine; some light marginal browning. Two-hole punch to left-hand margin. Creased where previously folded.
