Cincinnati, Ohio: Queen City Suspender Company, [1880s?]. Advertisement for Mrs. Smith's Skirt Suspenders, sold by the Queen City Suspender Co. of Cincinnati, with confident claims: "The most desirable and beneficial article ever invented for the relief of women, many of whom have suffered long years of miserable health, caused solely by carrying the weight of a number of heavy skirts upon their hips, completely dragging them down" (p. ). Queen City products were sold by the company's "lady agents", i.e. contracted representatives (p. ). On this copy, a contemporary ink stamp reads "Fannie A. Drake, - Agent Southhampton, N.Y." Bifolium (8.25" by 5.5"). Fine; one small stain to upper right-hand corner, not affecting text.
