Flyer for Grand Concert in Aid of the Southern Relief Fund

[Boston]: 1867. A Grand Concert hosted by the Mercantile Library Association at the Academy of Music for the benefit of the Southern Relief Fund during the Reconstruction Era. Max Maretzek (1821-1897) and his Grand Opera Troupe were headliners. Boston's Mercantile Library Association operated from 1820 until 1952, and was established "for the purpose of diffusing and
promoting knowledge among young men now engaged in, or destined for, the mercantile profession" (Catalogue of the Mercantile Library, 1852). Printed on purple-tinted paper (8.25" by 5"), verso blank. Fine. Traces of adhesive to verso where previously affixed to another sheet of paper; lightly creased where previously folded. Edges trimmed.
