New York, New York: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1941. A very charming interactive children's book starring Mr. Luke, a harried zookeeper who needs help putting the animals back in their cages at the end of the night. Each of the eight die-cut animals, ranging from "Trunko" the elephant to "Humpo" the camel, are originally housed in an envelope in the back of the book; the child must take each one and put it in the proper "cage" throughout the book. Each cage has a moveable paper door and a plastic window through which the animal can be seen. Good. Spine chipped with extremities worn/damaged. Some of the "cages" are loose.
