New York: Tyrell's Hygienic Institute, 1917. Printed promotional pamphlet with over one hundred thirty testimonials lauding the effectiveness of the J.B.L Cascade treatment (a proprietary colonic) in treating or curing afflictions ranging from acne and heartburn to Bright's Disease and Malaria. Titled "Leaves of Gold", the pamphlet is not shy about self-promotion, featuring the following endorsement from its ambassador, Dr. Chas. A. Tyrrell: "The above title only faintly expresses the value of the leaves of this pamphlet to those that are sick and suffering ... they are infinitely more precious than gold, for each leaf represents a life redeemed from misery; each one breathes the thanks of a grateful heart for the restoration of that priceless blessing, health" (upper wrapper).
Tall 12mo (8.75" by 4"), pp. 30, original printed wrappers inclusive. Fine. One short ear to right-hand margin of first two leaves, not touching text. Some light dust soiling.
