A two-fold sheet that depicts 7" John and Joan with their easel back stains on one sheet clothing and accessories for the twins on the other three.  The title is captioned "Tell your mother you could dress and undress yourself if she sewed in dainty flexible 'TALON' Slide Fasteners in all your clothes".  The commonality amongst all of the garments is that they all have zippers, presumably Talon Slide Fasteners.  Each item is identified as to wearer and purpose.  The reverse is blank.  Measures 20 3/4" x 16".

A great educational tool on sailors in WWII. Book measures 9" x 11 3/4".   .

A 9" x 14 1/2" pressed board box with applied litho depicting the afternoon tea.  Includes four compartments for the cut two-sided dolls, costumes and accessories including undergarments for beneath the dresses, hats, fans and everything a young woman would have at tea.  There are seven (7) of the eight (8) original dolls and three remaining metal stands.  Also includes an instruction sheet printed in French.  The instructions are addressed to the children and the parents advising the parents that it will help develop the child's fine motor skills (not in those terms) and to the children  that they should be neat, tidy and above all good.  It concludes with the verse (in French) Have order my children; we save pain and time Nothing is so beautiful as a little girl Kind, careful and neat. The instruction sheet references eight versus four compartments.  One would think they elected to use one set of instructions for two different sets.

A 4 1/4" two-sided paper boy doll and his seven (7) two-sided costumes that include background scenes.  The boys costumes correlate with occupations/activities and include: Arbalist (crossbowman) scholar with a book a masquerade costume a huntsman a professor with a globe an ice skater recreating with a stick and ball (hat included) . This is the same male doll as that found in the Christmas Doll boxed set.  Interestingly the three (3) outfits (masquerade, scholar and ice skater) in the Christmas Doll are identical but images but printed in different colors.

In the traditional German manner of the day the the set includes two (2) identical 6 3/4" paper dolls and eight (8) two-sided costumes. Each costume is printed on polished paper and involves an activity.  Light egg wash finish. The costumes were dubbed Pretty, Diligence,  Applications, Patience, Clemency,  Mansuetude, Candor and Sincerity.  The costumes depict woman with exuberant baby in cradle holding a book holding a satchel and hanky holding a watering can and garden rake holding a pot with a seated shepherd boy on reverse with a dog at her feet holding a lamb with lamb at her feet on reverse. holding a dove Includes two (2) hats. Each of the costumes is numbered. Charming and dear.. Information found in Howard p.279  An example of this doll was found in a German museum in the 1960s and included information on the publisher and costume labeling.

A heavy stock two-sided die-cut paper doll.  It is a Psyche doll  and identified as the Costume de Mme Penco from Fiorina. Theatre Italien.  The nine (9) two-sided costumes are mostly holding an object in one hand.  One holds a Psyche paper doll.  Other objects include a riding crop, a hand fan, a hanky, a nosegay, a basket of flowers, an umbrella and another hanky.  . Mademoiselle Penco was a French singer and actress House in a box with applied cutout photocopy of Psyche in a costume on the cover...
