Mechanical Sailor Boy With Binoculars - "I'm on the Lookout" - Lifts to Reveal his ?Mate?

A die-cut fold-out mechanical of what at first glance appears to be a sailor boy looking through binoculars.  However when the card is lifted it reveals a blond girl behind the binoculars, looking down and spying the sailor. The verse reads, "I'm on the Lookout" Let Me State - To Try and Sign You on as ?Mate.? Lower right corner made is U.S.A. Reverse has pencil inscription. Condition: excellent.
Vibrant Teal Background with Mandolin, Tambourine, Dutch Girl and Flowers

A single fold  valentine with lace paper cover with hinged second lace paper. An array of applied scraps include a Dutch girl in traditional costume, musical instruments including a mandolin atop a tambourine surrounded by flowers. Applied printed verse within. Condition: small area of discoloration hinged lace paper lower right.

A heavy card stock greeting depicting a note card surrounded by flowers.  It reads, “Sweetheart, but say you love me, And I’m content; or may I take for answer that silence gives consent”?  Front marked Marcus Ward & Co. Some age toning on reverse.
Outcault Illustration - A Wireless Telegram with Winking Dog and Boy in the style of Buster Brown

A postcard valentine depicting a paper scroll with a Buster Brown like boy and his dog both with left eye winking. The boy is dressed in red, holding a freshly painted heart has paint splatter at his feet. The verse reads, “Heres a Wireless Telegram that I will Send to you I’m In Love with you - I am I Love you ‘Deed I Do BE MY VALENTINE.” The bottom of the scroll love pierced hearts. Printed artist signature at base,  R.F. Outcault. Copyright 1904 by Raphael Tuck & Sons Co. Ltd. NY. Postmarked Feb. 14, 1908, postally used.
Two Novelty Cat Valentines- Each with “Fur” Pun in Verses

Two die-cut cats. The mechanical gray cat has a blue poke-a-dot bow tie and when the tie moves his head moves back and forth. The verse reads, “I’d like to OF “FUR” You My Heart.” The fold-down gray cat also had a blue bow. He is sitting in a heart with red trim. The verse reads, “What This is  “FUR” is to ask you to be My Valentine.” Condition: excellent.

An advertising trade card for Trifet’s, 25 School St., Boston promoting “Valentines, Wholesale and Retail”.  A multi-use illustration depicts a farm yard with a small dog tied to his dog house looking up at a blue bird. Left side has vertical printing imperfection with minimal detraction. Crisp edges.

A 10 1/2” x 15 1/2” sheet from the Ladies Home Journal.  It is one of several in a series of rocking or movable paper toys or dolls to cut and construct.  Each has a military theme to advance the war effort.  Illustration by Henry Anson Art.   This sheet is Uncle Sam’s Fighters - a new sereis of cut-out toys that move.  The first set: Wig-Wag Willie, the waggish sailor, and Knit-Knot Nettie, his sister.  Condition: overall excellent.

Medalwinner and Miss Polly Pitcher, the World’s Smallest Soldier. 1919.  Condition: light edge wear.

A heavy stock dance card with an invitation to the Annual Valentine Ball, to be held at the Union House, Cuttingsville, VT., Feb. 14, ‘90. Music by Ludlow Orchestra. Reverse has the Order of Dances.  There were 25 dances. Grand March at 8 o'clock. Unused.  Has not been folded.  Condition: excellent.  Unused.
6 Heart Shaped Valentine Cards Sending out Valentine Wishes - Special Mail Carrier.

Six embossed, die-cut valentine cards. A colorful group of Whitney Made valentines that depicts a child mail carrier, girl carrying a valentine to her mail box, and a girl holding a big valentine, another knocking on a door with valentine and finally two girls under an umbrella.  Condition is excellent.
9” Valentine Rich with Layers & Elements Plus “Just a Tiny Valentine.”

The first is  a single fold, die-cut embossed valentine with applied silver lace paper,  a hinged die-cut layer with red, black and gold ornamentation and a couple of kids sharing ice cream.  It concludes with  a hinged heart shaped lace paper with applied flower child and scrap of robins in nests. Printed verse and line-drawn Cupid within. The epitome of WhitneyMade.   The second is heart shaped depicting a young girl knitting.  Inside verse reads, “Just a tiny Valentine For a little friend like mine. The dearest little Miss is her and just the Valentine for me!” Condition: excellent.

A single fold valentine with an embossed lace paper cover with yellow background sheet. The intricate lace depicts a gate with climbing roses. At center, two birds sitting by there nest watch their nest. Green and purple wafers under the lace. Reverse has pencil inscription and red ?W?. Light toning on edge.
Uncut 8” Boy Paper Doll w 3 Outfits including Military Uniform c1930s

A 9 1/2” x 13 1/4” uncut paper doll sheet with a sorrowful looking 7 1/2” young lad and his three (3) outfits.  The first is a sailor suit with an oar and two (2) hats.  The second play togs including a hoop and the final a military uniform complete with night stick.  Uncertain as to the origin of this sheet.  c1930s.  Another of our little boys with a military theme.  Condition: excellent
3 Valentines Depict Popular Culture of the 1930s--Roller Skating, Scottie, Telephones & a Crooners

Top left is a blonde girl with pigtails dialing the phone looking for a ring. Top right is a girl roller skating carrying a special message. Her Scottie dog is at her feet. Below a boy croons with a large microphone. . He has a big yellow bow tie with red hearts. The verse reads, ? I?m not SINATRA  I?m not BING but for you Valentine I sure can SING.? The final is the timeless teen on the phone. Condition: excellent. Pencil inscriptions on reverse.
Tiny Girl Standing Atop of Lush Green Leaves with Floral Accent

A single fold embossed valentine with applied scraps of a small  girl holding her brimmed sun hat. She is standing atop lush green leaves which has tiny daises in the center. Verse read,”I have Waited Long for Thee.” Inside blank. Scrapbook residue on reverse. Front and back pages stuck together at top.  The envelope has pen inscriptions with front and back toning
4 Valentines Depicting Love, Hope, Friendship, Health

Four single fold valentines with embossed lace paper covers and applied hinged lace paper. All late Victorian with early Art Nouveau influence.  Sentiments include “Health.” , “Be My Love.” ,”My Dove.”  “Flame of Love.”  One envelope included.   Images include a flower fairy, an Irish chap playing the clarinet, a chapel and a pretty young lady. Nice representation of the period. Condition: overall excellent.  Some scrapbook residue on reverse.
