A group of 12 early Victorian embossed die-cut scraps depicting English royalty through the ages. Each measure approx. 2 ½ x 6””, depicting a full body image of the ruler. Three include a second small scrap that includes name, information on life span, reign and significant events during the reign. Condition: excellent. Some light edge wear at base.

A 14" embossed die-cut Victorian scrap articulated or jointed paper doll. This doll represented an actress of the day. Her costume is made of crepe paper. Notice the opera length gloves. What you don’t notice are the bloomered legs beneath her gown. The doll is comprised of five (5) scraps and a body form. The scraps are held to the body form with brass brads. c 1890s. Most likely made by L& B (Littauer & Boysen, Berlin Germany - founded 1887, Sold in 1920.) Condition: overall excellent. Lacking tip of shoe.

A 2 5/8” handmade paper doll with finely detailed ringlets and facial features. Overall the doll and costumes are of simple yet well thought design. The eight (8) different costumes are from the same pattern and decorated with watercolor. One dress has box cut edges while another has “pinked” or serrated edges or borders. Also includes a half-apron and a yellow pinafore. Dolls hand and left foot lacking. c1880s.

A dear 3 3/4” finely drawn and executed ink and watercolor toddler paper doll. Dressed in nothing but undergarments, shoes and socks. The curly haired strawberry blond has a rather forlorn look, perhaps because she has no clothes. Condition: few areas of discoloration. A sweet addition.

A 7” handmade paper doll constructed of an embossed die-cut Victorian scrap bodice of a young girl holding a pond boat. Note the anchor on her sleeve. A heavy card stock body form and legs with red and black watercolor stockings and boots. She is dressed in a tissue paper skirt with lace paper trim. All pulled together with a large red tissue paper sash with with fringe tassel. Applied easel back to allow doll to stand. Condition: excellent.

A 9” newspaper paper doll with nine (9) two piece handmade paper costumes. Many are interchangeable. Late Victorian period transitioning to Edwardian fashion. Each costume has it’s own charm, many with applied layers of paper ruffles polished paper trim, applied or cut wallpaper and more. Condition: the doll has some wear and is lacking a hand.

A 3 1/4” x 6” advertising flyer for Lautz Bros. & Co., Buffalo, N.Y. Line-drawn illustration of young boy jumping to avoid an approaching horse and wagon. It is captioned “For Little Girls. A Handsome Dressed Paper Doll --GIVEN AWAY. It further explains that the company would send a beautiful paper doll for mailing 25 soap wrappers. The reverse has a verse titled “Two on the Same Errand” expounding the virtues of Acme Soap... Condition: light toning and edge wear; overall fine.

A 3” x 4 1/2” advertising trade card for Au Bon Marche department store in Paris. A first glance it has the appearance of a die-cut card of a child in a high chair. By pushing the base upwards and side flaps inward it creates a 3D chair with a child in a high chair with a standing wheeled lamb toy at front Light wear. Few areas of missing surface litho. The reverse promotes the department store. One of a number of exceptional novelty cards created by the store.

A two-fold 14” x 9 1/2” die-cut card stock steamer trunk. When opened it is titled “Betty is Going Away to Boarding School. Includes an 8 3/4” cut easel back Betty and her six (6) costumes with accessories and one hand made kimono. The inside of the trunk has patterns to trace to create additional clothes for Betty. The trunk is to be used for storing the doll and her costumes. The outside base is marked H.E. Ohrenschall, who is also the illustrator for Let’s Build Our Camp. Condition: edge wear on trunk. 3 1/2” separation at base.

A 3 5/8” x 6 1/4" printed litho covered boxed set of paper dolls. Titled Volland Paper Playmates and Their Frocks 3 Dolls, 3 Dresses, 3 Coats, 3 Hats. P.F. Volland Company. New York. Note the cover illustration shows two girls playing with the paper dolls. Includes three (3) approx. 5" paper dolls. each with two (2) dresses and two (2) coats --1 coat, 1 dress and 3 hats lacking. Note the fine appearance of the dolls and the costumes, almost as though they were a gouache watercolor, but indeed are printed. Art Deco influence. Condition: missing costumes as noted above and surface wear on box cover. Dolls and costumes present in excellent condition. That being said very hard to come by set.

In 1895 Lion Coffee gave a "Brownie" paper doll in each package of coffee. Known has the "Riding Brownies" they were illustrated by Palmer Cox. They are in two parts, a rider and an animal. This is the East Indian on an Elephant. Measures 5" x 4 1/4". Printed in color lithography by H. A. Thomas and Wylie, Lithographers. New York. The reverse promotes Lion Coffee with a verse titled Avoid Glazed Coffees. Condition: excellent. Near mint.

An intricately detailed little group of embossed die-cut card stock toys. Includes a lion, lioness and two cuts, who appear somewhat docile with a nearby dish of milk. It also includes a less then docile hyeana who has presumably grabbed meat from the wagon. c1900. Light wear. The lion measures 4 1/2” x 3”.

A set of numbers appears on the front of each piece, while the back advertises Lions Coffee The reverse of the background piece shows illustrations of the dolls and the room setting. This set is No. 13 - Simple Simon. Water pump measures 5 1/4" x 4 3/8". Condition: excellent.
