A charming paper doll valentine – a 10 ¾” die-cut chromolithograph scrap torso of a young lady holding a song sheet.  Her skirt is constructed of cardboard covered with crepe paper.  It is designed to clasp in the back creating both a skirt and a stand.

 

The verse reads “Your voice is music to my ear, My heart-beats mark the time; Life is a song when you are near, My darling Valentine” c1880s.  Scratch on neck; otherwise fine.
