A 5 3/4" x 3 1/2" single fold valentine. This 1840 Strong card depicts a center image of color ink; the couple is in the garden. She has on a red dress and he is in black. The gardens are green and a small patch of grass is faded yellow in color. The image is framed with four winged cherubs and flowers. This appears to have an Art Nouveau influenced design. Verse reads, ‘Sweet is the breath of early morn, And song of birds in verdant grove, But sweater far to me than these, Is the voice of her I love. The condition is good. The card has two vertical folds. Front marked Strong, N.Y.
