An 8” x 5 ¾” hinged box with a surprise inside. The front cover has an image of a young woman wearing white pears, blue dress, and blue ribbons in her hair. She is holding a bouquet of roses in her hands. Dresden edging. The interior of the box is edged with 1” lace paper. Beneath the lace is an elaborate gold enhanced lace paper, upper center of lace paper lacking. There are four wafers, beneath each corner.  The center has a scrap girl holding a single rose in her hand and a letter in the other hand. There are four scrap bouquets, two roses above her head, two white daisies on each side, and the bottom has pansies with a verse that reads, ‘Happy may the Birthday be.’ The condition is good. Box wear. Cover lacking 5/8” Dresden border. Discoloration on hand of girl scrap. Reverse has pencil inscriptions with some toning. Ella Miss Gilbert printed on reverse
