| A Victorian parlor game set, consiting of aa hinged fruitwood box with inlay on lid. When opened it exposes a hand tinted paper lined box with three rectangular woven straw boxes with chenille fringe and a 4" in diameter circular woven straw basket. Also includes red and white circular tiddely wink style bone chips/markers and white, yellow, blue and red oblong bone markers. Also includes Hoyles Improved Rules for Playing Fashionable Games, at Cards, Etc. London: Dean and Munday. Originally printed 1824. Appears to be from the 1880s. Also includes Companion to The Whist Table. The box measures 9 1/2" x 11 1/2" x 2". Condition: some wear. |
