Decorated 8 1/2" x 6 1/2" x 1 7/8" hinged box valentine with gold metal clasp.  Lacquered paper box with silver embossed die-cut trim.  Cameo scrap of woman holding dove.  A smaller die-cut version of the same image adorns the inside of the box lid.  When opened the box reveals a multi-layer diarama type valentine with hinged scraps and lace paper.  Scraps of women and children of various ages and sizes, also winged angels and cherubs.  A dandy approaches a woman with a valentine.  Enhanced with roses, various types of birds, etc.  A scrap with fuchsia at top is captioned True Love be my guide  True Victoriana.  No maker identified.  Condition: some wear on box exterior.  The surface on cameo image on cover is crazed.
