There are four items in this lot,
including a c1900 Haddon Hall viewbook, a dinner menu from the Chalfonte hotel,
and two c1910s illustrated card stock
folders, also from the Chalfonte. The Haddon Hall viewbook contains 24 pages,
and 10 full page illustrations, most taken from photographs. Shown are the exterior of the hotel, its
verandah, exchange, smoking room, ladies’ writing room, and the sun gallery,
plus others of sights in the area (board walk, boats and dock at the inlet,
etc). Condition: age toning on covers;
small cahip at lower outside corner of front cover; separation at top half of
covers’ outer fold. Otherwise VG, it
measures 5 ¼” X 6 ¼”.
The card stock menu is dated Sunday, August 1, 1915, and
has an image of golfers at top.
Condition: light soiling and a
few small stain spots. Otherwise VG, it
measures 5 1/8” X 8”.
The two folders are
identical in size, measuring 6 7/8” X 8 7/8”. Printed on card stock, they were
to be used as mailers, One has four folds, nine full page views and one page of
text, the last having a map of New Jersey.
The other has five folds, with 13 views, nine of which are full page. It
too has one page with text and the map.
Condition: one has a rupper stamp
impression and pencil note in the address space; the other has initials in the
address space, and a blue pencil check mark on the cover page. Otherwise VG.
