1897, A Joyful Christmas to All Menu for the Hotel Colson..  Menu-Christmas 1909, Hotel Koch, Hartford, CT. ..
Folded die-cut paper menu, elaborate flowers with glitter decorate the front cover, inside lists menu, back has the image of the Hotel Colson; H.W.P. Colson, Prop., and Harry H. Goodnow, Mgr. Menu features Bluepoints on Deep Shell; soups-consumme imperial, celery, green turtle, olives; fish-salmon a la Regence with Parisienne potatoes and sliced tomatoes; roasts- Vermont turkey and cranberry sauce, fillet of beef with mushrooms, goose a la Normandie and spiced peaches; entrees-roast quail on toast, julienne potatoes, lobster patties a la Newbery, pineapple fritters, rum sauce; cold-lambs tongues and patties a la royal;  vegetables-mashed and boiled sweet potatoes, boiled onions, cauliflour in cream and mashed turnips; pastry-Christmas pudding, brandy sauce, mince, apple, cranberry, frozen pudding, assorted cake, macaroons; dessert-Bent's water crackers, canadian club cheese, figs; and fruit-assorted nuts, layer raisins, tea and coffee. 5 3/4" x 4" . some of the cut flowers are torn, slight staining Printed folded soft cover with applied printed sticker and die cut opening, tied with string, opening page had scrolled decorations and printed wreath with embossed hotel logo, embossed logo also appears on back cover, Menu on inside folded page. C.P.L. Herrmann, Artist-Printer. Menu for Dinner, Christmas 1909, served 12-3 and 6-8 pm. Some selections include Buzzard Bay oysters on shell, Consomme Diplomat, Mignonette of Sole, Boiled Native Fowl, Suckling Jersey Pig, Pies, English Plum Pudding, Malaga Grapes, cheeses, and ice cream. 10" x 6". staining
10" Embossed Die-cut Victorian Scrap Snow Angel in Rose and Winterberry Wreath - Mica Enhanced A Letter to Santa Claus – written in rhyming verse and asking for more for the poor children. A pen and ink letter written on two 9 ½” x 4 ½” stock cut in the shape of a stocking. . ..
10" Scrap Russian Girl Posing Two (2) stocking shaped pages tied together with string. Written in pencil at the top is "Robert B." The first paragraph asks Santa “While you are planning for everything nice. Pray let me give you a bit of advice”. The next two paragraphs read: Don’t take it hard, if I say in your ear, Santa, I think you were partial last year Loading the rich folks with everything gay Snubbing the poor ones who came in your way: Now, of all times in the year I am sure This is the time to remember the poor. Plenty of children there are in our city, Who have no fathers nor mothers to pity; Plenty of people whose working and heeding Scarcely can keep all their dear ones from needing Now if I came every year in December, They are the ones I should surely remember. Little red hands, that are aching and cold, You should have mittens your fingers to hold; Poor little feet, with your frost bitten toes, You should be clothed in the warmest of hose Continues for three more verses on reverse. The verse appears as early as 1878 in Christmas Chimes, Nelson & Phillips, NY. The second page has two additional verses one about a new baby that Santa shouldn’t miss and the second on Robbie’s wants. . slight discoloration
