A large format hard cover folk art creation, most likely school project. The title page reads L.S.J.C. M.L. Geirnaert, 2me Annee Moyenne 1922-1923. It is a combination of watercolor drawings with embellishments, watercolor maps and scraps. It appears to be a project on world geography, culture and economics. The different maps represent geography including mountain ranges , where various types of animals are located, types of products produced regionally, and major cities. Some or all are repeated for Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas. There are fourteen (14) maps. All maps are on the right hand page. The left pages are watercolors of people as they relate to the culture, economics and industries of the various continents. The watercolors of the people are embellished with fabrics, typical to the region, products of the region (real dried tea is being picked from a tree), There are silk ribbon flowers and and embossed die-cut scrap on the Asia Industries page. The costumes of Africa are embellished with feathers. There are fabric clothes on the "native" Americans. There are scraps of animals and fish. There are labels from products of the Americas. A comprehensive and well constructed, creative hand made work on world geography, culture and commerce. Measures 10 1/2" x 14 3/4", Condition: overall book and content excellent. The pages have separated from the cover. Minimal detractions. There are protective tissue pages between the pages. Delightful work. See lots of additional images below.
